I know it’s basically mandatory to say this at the beginning of every favorites, but where did the month go? September, I feel like we were just getting to know each other and now you’re gone. Honestly, it kind of freaks me out that time is moving so quickly these days. Despite time flying, I have some favorites to share with you and as always there’s a bit of everything.
Statement Earrings and Subtle Changes
I love a pair of statement earrings, but I wear glasses most of the time and I feel like wearing both is just… a little too much head decoration. This month, I braved the world sans spectacles, so I could wear my Fair Anita earrings and it was so worth it. I paired them with jeans and a tee, attempted a perfectly disheveled ponytail and felt just a bit more put together. Adding a new accessory really changes the vibe and makes the most basic outfit way cooler.
If you’re looking for some beautiful, affordable and ethically made jewelry, Fair Anita has you covered.
I haven’t been wearing the statement earrings of my dreams because I have quite a few other ear piercings and the jewelry really needed to be changed out. I swapped a hoop that didn’t lay in line with the others for a stud and finally put a shorter stud in my lobe since the old one stuck out awkwardly. It’s still a work in progress, but it drives me a little less crazy. I’m looking for an earring pin/crawler, so if you know where I can get one please let me know!
I won’t gush too much because I have a whole post dedicated to oil cleansing, but I’m loving it. It’s one of those things where I feel like I have to tell everyone to try it because it’s so good. I’m curious to see how it holds up in the cooler months because that’s usually when my skin is at its worst. I’ll report back on that, but in the meantime, my skin is happy.
While we’re talking about fashion, it briefly cooled down (now it’s mid-eighties again), so I had a chance to break out my docs. They are definitely my most beloved and comfortable shoes. I wear them with just about everything in the autumn and winter and honestly, I never get bored.
Bullet Journal & Finding Balance
If you’ve been following along, you know September has been a little busy and jolting because I went from a very flexible schedule to a very full and structured one. Last week, I shared some tips for how to manage blogging, studying and well, life. I’m happy to say I’m getting the hang of it and my bullet journal has been such a huge part of that. For a few weeks, it wasn’t quite working for me, but after a bit of trial and error, I found a system that’s perfect. If you want to know more about my bullet journal, watch this.
