Happy Friday! I thought we’d do something a bit different and fun today. Some of my favorite posts to write are green beauty reviews and you all seem to love them too. My last review was rather luxurious and it made me wonder what other high priced items are worth every penny. Here are five nontoxic, vegan and cruelty-free beauty products that are totally splurge-worthy.
1. Triesta Organics Haircare
You know I had to include this! At $110 for the four piece moisturizing collection, it’s certainly no bargain, but it’s so worth it. If your hair is very damaged, dry or unruly, it’s a great investment. If you don’t want to shell out all that money, first I don’t blame you and secondly, the blow dry gel and clarifying treatment are the standout products, so maybe just opt for those. To learn all the details about their products and my experience, check out this post.
2. Captain Blankenship Mermaid Detox Mask
$30 may not seem so bad compared to that last one, but considering I’m used to making face masks in my kitchen for cents, I was skeptical a mask was worth more. I was wrong. This mask is perfect for a gentle deep cleanse even on my sensitive dry skin. You need less than 1/2 teaspoon per use, so it will last quite a while. It features organic spirulina, matcha, kelp among other natural ingredients.
Also, the packaging is super cute. Just saying.
3. Hynt Beauty Skin Prep Serum
I think we all appreciate the samples that many green beauty brands include with your order, but this one? It’s finally empty after weeks of careful use and I’m so sad to see it go. Hynt’s Skin Prep Serum is a seaweed based primer with skincare benefits that makes my makeup apply so smoothly and last all day. It has a gel-like consistency that smoothes over dry skin, blemishes and fine lines making the perfect base for foundation. It is $44 though, which is why I haven’t repurchased it yet, but I think about it every time I do my makeup and it just isn’t the same without it.
4. 100% Pure Horsetail Base Coat
For a long time I thought base coats were unnecessary, so I just couldn’t bring myself to spend the $12. This will come as no shock, but guys, it makes my manicure (and pedicure) last so much longer. I know, revolutionary, but for those of you who feel bad buying it, but love have your nails done, just get it! You won’t regret it.
5. 100% Pure Makeup Sponge
I have a love hate relationship with sponges. I love the finish I can achieve with them, but I hate throwing the away after a few months and spending $15 to replace it. The 100% Pure beauty blender dupe is cheaper than the original though and better in my opinion. It’s much more dense, but still blends beautifully. The Real Techniques sponge is cheaper and works okay, but it doesn’t compare.
I’d love to know what products you spurge on or if you’ve found any very affordable hidden gems! Please share below. See you on Sunday.
