Last Minute Understated Holiday Makeup

IMG_5405Merry Christmas Eve! For those of you celebrating today and tomorrow, I wanted to create a look that’s subtly festive and universally flattering. The result is this soft shimmering makeup that takes just a few products and minutes.

For my base, I did my everyday complexion routine. I used the Juice Beauty CC Cream in desert glow (see my review here), Hynt concealer in light and Silk Naturals setting powder.

The eyes are the definitely focus of this look. Rather than focusing on reds or greens, I opted for pink and champagne shimmers. It’s a little more sophisticated and because they’re relatively close to my skin tone, these shades are more forgiving.

I began by sweeping a light matte yellow all over the lid with a fluffy brush. Then, I defined the crease with a light warm taupe. Usually I wouldn’t go all over the lid with a shimmer, but ’tis the season. I wet a packing brush and loaded it with this gorgeous copper shadow. To give the inner corner a boost, I added a sparkly rose gold. I ran both the shimmers along the lower lash line and added mascara to finish off the eyes.

Just about any lip color would work with this look. I went for Au Naturale lipstick in the shade innocence over lip balm for a barely there pinky flush.

And that’s it! I hope you all have a great Christmas or just a great couple of days if you’re not celebrating. I might be posting tomorrow as well with a vegan christmas food recap since my Thanksgiving recap went down so well. We’ll see, but either way, I’ll see you on Tuesday with something very exciting.
