Makeup for Glasses with Warby Parker

Glasses are perhaps my favorite accessory, but until recently, I never considered how they affect my makeup. Well, besides leaving those annoying marks in my foundation anyway. It can be tricky to balance your makeup and frames, especially when you’re a lover of statement glasses like me, so today I’m sharing my tips along with the new Winter and Resort collections from Warby Parker.

If you’ve been around here before, you know I love no-makeup makeup and that’s what I wear on a daily basis. Bold frames can make your features look lackluster in comparison, so I focus three key areas to add definition.

First up is the brows. I like fill in my brows a bit darker, so they don’t get lost behind my frames. Next to keep my eyes looking bright, I add a nude or white liner to the waterline, an inner corner highlight and a bit of mascara. Lastly, I apply a soft pink lipstick to bring some color back to my face. The result is subtle barely there makeup that makes all the difference.

Natural makeup is great, but sometimes I want a little more drama. My favorite way to amp up my look is a bold lip. When you’re wearing colored frames like these rose gold beauties, choosing a lip color can be challenging. To me, there’s two options. You can match your frames or go for high contrast. Because these glasses are so light and cute, I went for a dark taupe lip to make the vibe more cool than sweet.

If you’d rather play up your eyes, stick to lighter shadows to prevent your eyes from looking small, or skip shadow and go for classic winged liner. A wash of color all over the lid, neutral or otherwise, is my favorite way bring attention to my eyes because it doesn’t look muddled or require a ton of blending.

Of course before you can pick your makeup, you have to pick your glasses. Warby Parker’s Home Try-On makes the process so much easier. Just select five frames and try them out for five days. Shipping is free both ways. Honestly, the hardest part is sending them back only because they’re so cute! It’s the perfect way to try different styles with zero risk. I’m especially in love with the navy aviators, but I think the rose gold frames are a close second.

Warby Parker just launched two new collections. Winter 2017 is all about a modern take on retro shapes, so of course I feel right at home. There are no boring glasses here! From translucent pastels, tortoise and marbled frames, it’s hard to choose. There are even narrow frames for tiny-faced people like me.

Resort 2017 is seriously chic. Metal inlays add glimmer to angular frames and sunglasses for a modern classic look. I haven’t seen anything quite like these frames before. Honestly, I don’t feel sophisticated enough to wear them, but I think they would be flattering on just about everyone.

In case you need another reason to catch them out, when you purchase a pair of Warby Parker glasses, a pair is donated to someone in need, which I absolutely love. My goal is always to support and share companies that are doing good. If you’re in the market for bold eyeglasses or chic sunglasses, look no further and remember my makeup tips for your new specs.
