Oh, January. I’m not sad to see you go. For some it brings motivation and a fresh start, but the new year just turns me into a slug. This month wasn’t all bad though, so today we’re talking favorites. If you haven’t read one my monthly favorites before, I bring a mix of beauty, fashion and randoms. I especially love all the things I’m sharing with you this month.
Happy Sunday! Hiding in my drafts was a thrift haul from the last time I hit up the Goodwill Sunday sale. Don’t you love when your past self does something nice for present you? I’m still not quite on top of blog posts (see this post) and we love a haul, so I thought I could talk you through my latest finds today. I tried on a ton of clothes as always and left with five items for $2.50. It’s not the biggest haul ever, but they rarely are. Thrifting is a lot of looking, a little buying, and sometimes all you buy are basics.
To those of you who have your perfect skincare routine nailed down, I am envious. I’ve been trying to figure out my skin for years, but in the last few weeks I think I’ve gotten much closer. I don’t know the last time I switched so many products, but it has been well worth it because my dry, reactive skin is now behaving this winter. That never happens. If you need some skincare inspo, you’re in the right place.
Self-care and Sundays go hand in hand, so I thought I would take the opportunity to reflect on the matter. Honestly, at times I can be pretty terrible at taking care of myself emotionally, physically, mentally- just all the ways. I think we all know we should always take care of ourselves, but what does that really look like?
I’m not one to bash products. Of course I give honest reviews, but outside of that if I don’t like it, I just don’t talk about it. On the other hand, I think what beauty products I don’t use can be just as insightful as what I love, so today I rounded up the products that have no place in my makeup, skincare, or haircare routine.
I think I fell into the vegan junk food trap over the holidays. Except it started during finals week and it’s lasted past the new year. Needless to say, I’m in a need of a reset.
Winter is in full force, making me seriously lazy when getting dressed. Just give me a cozy clothes and a heavy coat and I’ll be fine. Because of that, I’ve been heavily relying on the basics of my closet and let’s just say they are well loved. In case you’re in need of wardrobe staples, here’s a roundup of ethical and vegan options.
It’s my first blog post of the new year! Naturally, I’ve been thinking about what 2018 will bring, but I’m not on board with the “new year, new me” mentality. Before we’re back to my typical content, I want to share what’s to come and how I’m approaching this year.
