What’s in my Travel Makeup Bag

IMG_5748When it comes to weekend trips, I think I’m pretty good at packing light. I do bring the occasional unnecessary item or two; work out clothes, I’m looking at you. My makeup bag on the other hand is just enough. Since I’m currently away, I thought I’d give you a little peek into what makeup I brought along.

It should come as no surprise that my go-to base is the 100 Percent Pure BB Cream. I have a full review if you want to learn more, but in short it has buildable coverage and leaves you fresh-faced and beaming. Not glowing, beaming. It might be too much, but I   can’t get enough glow.

Lately, I haven’t been into the Hynt concealer, a former staple in my routine. It’s such a beloved product in the green beauty community and while I do think it’s good, sometimes it’s a little tricky to work with. Instead, I’ve been trying out the Conceal + Correct from Clove + Hallow. This concealer means business. It’s full coverage and dries down quickly, making it ideal for covering blemishes and hyperpigmentation all day. I’m still testing it, but so far so good. Let me know if you’d be interested in a review comparing it to the Hynt concealer.

In the case that I want to skip bb cream for a super quick look, I tossed the Elate creme revealer in my bag. It doesn’t have much coverage, but the light oily texture blends well into bare skin to give your complexion a little boost. This came in a past Petit Vour box, so I’m using it up, but honestly it’s not a product I would have purchased on my own.

To set my base, I use the Silk Naturals perfecting powder, or rather used because I just finished it up. Powder recommendations are welcome! I use a large tapered powder brush to set my t-zone and under my eyes. Speaking of brushes, I also have a tiny concealer brush and a spoolie. I guess I’m not much of a brush user.

Brows are perhaps my favorite step of getting ready, but knowing that I always end up doing my makeup in a rush, I travel with just one multitasking product. The Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder tints my brows while holding them in place and adding volume. If I could only wear one makeup product, it would be this. I’m addicted.

For the longest time, all I needed was some lip balm, but now I have an everyday lipstick. I feel like a real woman. Cue Au Naturale lipstick in the shade innocence. It brings some color back to my face without looking like obvious makeup. Recently, I’ve added in the Red Apple Lipstick lip liner in the shade barely pink and it’s the perfect complement.

That’s everything in my travel makeup bag! Now I have to know are you a makeup overpacker, underpacker or do you pack just right?
