Summer Ethical Fashion Wish List

IMG_6071Considering it’s nearly May, summer should be making an appearance soon. It’s currently a chilly gloomy day, but a girl can dream, right? I love a little sunshine and warmth, but honestly dressing for hot days isn’t my favorite. I’m not one to show a lot of skin, so putting together an outfit I like while also ensuring I don’t melt can be tricky. Perhaps this year I’ve had a change of heart (or have reached peak desperation for vitamin D) because I’m craving all things ruffled, bright, woven and breezy.

I think my summer wardrobe obsession began with the woven circle bag. Straw bags have been seemingly everywhere and I can’t get enough. They add texture and festivity to otherwise basic outfit and take any summer dress to the next level. If you’re in the market, check out this vegan option from Melie Bianco. Personally, I’m going to make it my mission to thrift one. This style isn’t new by any means, so they should be pretty easy to score secondhand. Hopefully, I didn’t just jinx myself…

Speaking of summer dresses, can we take a moment to admire this beauty from Amour Vert? I love ruffles, I love gingham, and together in a blue wrap dress, it’s just a dream. I don’t even have anything else to say about it, I just love it. Currently, it’s way out of my budget, but here’s to hoping it goes on sale.

Do I need another pair of statement earrings from Fair Anita? No, not exactly, but the Altar Hoops are so good! Not only are they so chic and go with everything, they’re fair trade and $14. It really doesn’t get any better! They also come in silver if you more of a cool tones gal.

Those are the three pieces that I’ve been eyeing, but I’m also looking for some blouses and bottoms. I just haven’t seen anything quite right and I think thrift stores are especially good for summer clothes, so I’ll be looking there. I may have already snagged a couple of things, but I’ll talk about them in an upcoming thrift haul!

I’m also planning to do another clear out of my wardrobe because there’s no point in keeping clothes someone else could get more use out of. Let me know if you’re interesting a blog post about refreshing my closet or my least and most worn items.

I hope summer finds all of us soon!
